Royal Enfield is constantly updating its vehicle portfolio this month. After a long wait, the company has finally introduced two of its motorcycles, the new Himalayan and the all-new shotgun 650. The company introduced the new shotgun 650 in India during the motoverse. This bobber-style bike is based on the company’s same concept model SG 650 that the company introduced during the EICMA Motor Show during the year 2021.
For the last three years, preparations have been made to launch this bike, meanwhile, the bike was also seen on the roads of the country several times on different occasions. Finally, the company has officially presented this bike to the world as a production model. It is being said that the company will launch this bike for sale by the year 2024.
You can buy bikes before launch . ..!
However, the new Royal Enfield shotgun 650 has yet to be officially launched. But still, some selected customers have a chance to ride this luxurious motorcycle.
The bikes that were put on display during this event were hand-built units, the company has prepared only 25 units of these bikes. Which will be selected through a lucky draw among customers. These will be the people who participated in this motowars event. The starting price of these units has been fixed at Rs 4.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the motowars version of the shotgun 650 will begin from January 2024.
Royal Enfield focuses on 650cc segments
Royal Enfield is now focusing on the 650cc segment, currently with a total of three models available in this segment in the company’s portfolio, including the Interceptor 650, Continental GT, and Super Meteor 650.
It will now be the new fourth-model shotgun 650 with a twin-cylinder engine. The shotgun 650 is similar to the Super Meteor 650 but has some changes compared to the cruiser motorcycle.
These include small fenders, plastic casings around the headlamps, different designs for turn indicators, black-finish exhaust mufflers with different designs, flat handlebars, and bar-end mirrors.
In addition, it has a long seat and mid-set foot pegs, which gives a perfect riding position. With thicker tires and inverted front forks, the Shotgun 650 shares the same parts as the Super Meteor 650.
The color scheme is quite funky with blue and black with edgy graphics. In terms of features, it features a semi-digital console with full-LED lighting and Tripper navigation modules.
As far as the engine is concerned, it has a 649 cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine. In other bikes, the engine produces 47bhp and 52Nm of torque It is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox.
Although the Royal Enfield company has not yet shared any information about the shotgun’s engine power output, it will now be interesting to see if the power output of this engine remains the same.
The Royal Enfield shotgun is not a direct rival to the 650 as there are no bobber-style bikes available in this segment in India. As far as the price is concerned, it will cost between Rs 10,000-20,000 cheaper than the Super Meteor 650.
The price of the Super Meteor 650 starts at Rs 3.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Now the company will announce the official launch and delivery of the shotgun in the coming days.
