It has a 60-degree V-twin engine with two overhead cams, a 90-degree firing order, and four vowels per cylinder. Unlike the 45-degree v-twin on prior Evos.
Sportster S 2024: Braking Performance
The engine is a stressed member. The front-frame, mid-frame, and subframe all bolt directly to the engine. This reduces weight significantly. Variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust cams ensures plenty of grunt right on tap. It’s available through the entire power curve. The Sportster S 2024 offers three preset riding modes: Sport, Road, and Rain. It also has two extra customizable modes. These modes allow users to change the engine braking, power delivery, ABS, and traction control parameters.
Sportster S: Suspension and Handling
The Sportster S 2024 needs performance brakes. The radial-mount Brembo caliper binds the single 320-millimeter front disc. A powerful twin-piston caliper chomps the 280-millimeter rear disc. However, ultimate performance is slightly diminished with a single disc, but it can still pull you up on a 10-cent piece if required.

Sportster S: Urban Street Dominance
The shallow suspension includes hydraulic preload adjustment. It can get rough at times, especially with only two inches of travel at the rear. Ground clearance with 34 degrees of lean angle on both sides allows for fast riding when tight corners start rolling in. The Sportster S is great for terrorizing urban streets. However, it may not be suitable for long trips away. It was designed to be a ball-tearing muscular street bike with aggression and performance to match. For some, the Sportster S may not be their type of bike, but it will attract younger rev heads to the brand.
