7th Place: Kia Niro
With only 5 votes, the restyled compact SUV in 2022 comes in last place among the seven finalists. Despite a successful launch in 2016, with over 500,000 copies sold worldwide, the Kia Niro failed to impress in this year’s competition. However, the Niro boasts a sleek design with a refined grille and lighting signature, as well as two 10.25-inch screens. It offers 3 versions to choose from: a fully hybrid (HEV) of 141 hp, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) of 183 hp, and a 100% electric version Niro-EV with 204 hp and an impressive 463 km of autonomy (WLTP).
6th Place: Nissan Ariya
In 6th place, with 8 votes, is the Nissan Ariya, the new flagship electric vehicle of construction. While it is based on the new CMF-EV platform available for all Renault-Nissan Alliance models, the Ariya failed to capture the hearts of the voters. Available in two versions, a two-wheel drive and a 4×4 version, the Ariya starts at €50,800.
5th Place: Jeep Avenger
The Jeep Avenger comes in 5th place, with 13 votes. Revealed as a 4-wheel drive at the Mondial de l’Auto in Paris, the Avenger is the first 100% electric SUV from the American manufacturer. This “urban mini-SUV” with a 4.08-meter length, comes in two or four engine options, each with a power of 94 hp. Priced at €39,500, it is the cheapest electric vehicle among the seven finalists.
4th Place: Toyota bZ4X
In fourth place is the Toyota bZ4X with 18 votes. Although Toyota is one of the manufacturers that has been slow to adopt the electric vehicle market, the new bZ4X SUV seems to be winning the hearts of many. The first electric model from the company, it should be available on French soil soon and is expected to be priced between 45,000 and 60,000 € depending on the version.
3rd Place: Volkswagen ID. Buzz
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz takes the bronze medal, with 41 votes. The neo-retro electric combi, inspired by Volkswagen’s iconic 60s van, comes with a boot volume of 1,121 liters and a power of 204 hp. Available from €56,990, it is the vehicle with the most storage space in the selection.
